Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport (in simplified Chinese厦门高崎国际机场), or Xiamen Airport for short, is the only airport of Xiamen city in Fujian Province. Of course, being the city which the Xiamen Airlines is located, Xiamen Gaoqi Internation Airport is one of the bases of Xiamen Airlines. The IATA code of the airport is XMN while the ICAO code of it is ZSAM. In 2007 and 2008, the passenger throughput of the airport ranks 11th among airports mainly providing domestic civil aviation services. During the summer and autumn period in 2008, the busiest routes run in this airport is from Xiamen to Shanghai, followed by the route running from Xiamen to Beijing.

Xiamen International Airport is located in the northeastern tip of Xiamen Island, which is about 10 km away from the city center of Xiamen. At present, there is a runway which is 3400 meters long and 45 meters wide. The apron area of Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport was 25 million square meters, and there is the terminal area of 149,000 square meters.

At present, there are 4 methods for you to reach Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport. The first one is, of course, taxi. The starting price of a taxi is 9 RMB and it is quite cheap indeed. Of course, if you are trying to go to this airport from a quite distant place, you could try to consider other options. Another option is Airport Bus. There are some stations in Xiamen where you could take an airport bus. However, these stations are not many in Xiamen so that if you are not at the location near the stations, you better not choose to take airport bus.

Besides the above options, you could simply take a bus to reach the Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport. Of course, this is the cheapest way to reach the airport but you are not recommended to take it if you are in a hurry because if it stops at every station before reaching the airport, you would surely miss your plane.

The last choice is the Bus Rapid Transit. It is similar to mass transit system and the Line 1 and 2 of this system could both bring you to the airport.

The transport to Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport (in simplified Chinese广州白云国际机场) is very convenient. By taking the Airport Expressway, you could arrive at this airport in 20 minutes. Of course, the construction of the Expressway requires money so that the ticket price of this expressway would not be very cheap compared with other means of transport.

If you have limited budget, you could try to take the bus. There are currently 9 bus routes running from different parts of Guangzhou to the Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport. Therefore, if you need to travel to the airport but you do not want to spend a lot of money taking taxi or the Airport Expressway, you could just simple go to a bus station and you might see the sign that there would be a airport bus leading you to your destination. Of course, waiting airport bus requires time so that if you are in a hurry, you should not try to stand at the bus stop and wait because if you are unlucky, you might need to wait as long as 25 minutes to get a suitable bus for you.

On the other hand, if you are in a hurry but you do not want to spend much, you could consider taking the mass transit system. The system would bring you to the terminal of the Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport directly and you could simply reach the check-in counters after leaving the train.

However, as mass transit system has a number of stations and you might need to waste some time waiting for the doors of the train to open and close, you could take a taxi to the airport if you do not mind spending about 100 to 120 RMB. Compared to other transport tools, it is definitely more expensive but you could convenient reach the airport unless there is a traffic jam on the road. Currently, taxi seems to remain the most popular tool of tourist when they are going to the Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport.

Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport (in simplified Chinese广州白云国际机场) is located in Huadu District of Guangzhou City in Guangdong Province. It was officially opened in 5th August in 2004.

The previous Guangzhou Baiyun Airport was located in Baiyun District of Guangzhou City. It was built in the summer of 1933, which was originally used for military purposes mainly. Later, the previous Baiyun Airport was converted into a civilian airport. After the reform and opening up of China, Baiyun Airport was developing rapidly and its passenger throughput had been ranking the first in the country for 8 consecutive years. However, as the old Baiyun Airport was located in the urban center, the expansion of the airport was limited and after a number of expansions, the airport was still unable to meet the increasing demand from the passengers. Therefore, the construction of the new Baiyun Airport, which is also the Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport was are talking about now, was put into the agenda of the government.

The choosing of the site of the new Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport started in 1992 and after years of preparation, the new Baiyun International Airport started the construction in August 2000. After 4 years of hard work, the construction completed in August 2, 2004 completed. At the same year, the airport was officially opened and then, the old Baiyun Airport, which served Guangzhou people as well as foreign visitors for 72 years, was closed.

The construction of the Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport involved a total investment of nearly 200 million RMB. Currently, the farthest airport in the world from Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport was located in Chile, which is the San Pedro De Atacama Airport. As Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport is one of the main airports used in Guangdong Province, a lot of airlines would locate the destination of their flights in this airport so that many people coming to visit Guangzhou or even Guangdong Province would have arrived at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport when they first step on the territory of China.

Wuyishan Airport (in simplified Chinese武夷山机场), formerly known as Sung Airport, is the only airport in Wuyishan City of Fujian Province. Since Wuyishan City is one of the most favorite tourist sites in China, many people would use the services provided by this airport. It is also the base of Xiamen Airlines, one of the famous domestic airlines in China. The IATA code of this airport is WUS, while the ICAO code of it is ZSWY.

Wuyishan Airport is located in the Wuyi village at high street in Wuyishan City, covering an area of 2800 mu. The runway length and width of this airport is 2400 × 45 m, and the pavement strength according to TCN quality was recorded as grade 48. The new apron of Wuyishan Airport had an area of 18,000 square meters, which can accommodate Boeing 737 and MD -80 aircraft. Therefore, the hardware of this Wuyishan Airport is very nice and passengers could have confidence towards this airport.

Wuyishan airport was built in August 1958. The location of this airport was originally the former back-up airport for the Air Force 2 of China. The main runway was built along the north-south direction, which was cement and concrete pavement. This runway was 2,200 meters long and 50 meters wide. Built parallel to the main runway, there was a taxiway.

In August 1991, Wuyishan Airport expansion project was officially approved and it was started in July 13, 1992. In November 1993, the construction of the Wuyishan Airport was completed and put into use. This expansion project involved a total investment of 96 million RMB, and the designed annual throughput was 42 million passengers. According to the standard of the Civil Aviation, this was a 4C-class airport. This expanded Wuyishan Airport was very large and there were a lot of comprehensive services provided and the airport was quite advanced. In recent years, the authority is kept improving the facilities of this airport so that more and more people would choose to use the services of this airport.

Fuzhou Changle International Airport (in simplified Chinese福州长乐国际机场), or Fuzhou Airport for short, it the only civil aviation airport in Fuzhou. The IATA code of this airport is FOC, while the ICAO code of it is ZSFZ. It is currently the main airport of Fujian Province, and it is also the second base of Xiamen Airlines. Therefore, many people visiting Fujian Province would have probably visited this airport and enjoyed the facilities or services provided by this airport.

Fuzhou Changle International Airport is located in Changle City of Fuzhou at southeast of a town in the Zhang River sand, which is about 55 kilometers away from Fuzhou City Center. The airport was put into use since June 23, 1997. Fuzhou Changle International Airport has a runway of length and width of 3600 × 45 meter, and a parallel taxiway of length and width of 3600 × 23 meters. The construction of the first phase of the Fuzhou Changle International Airport was based on the standard that the airport could afford a passenger throughput of 6.5 million air passengers, and a cargo and mail annual handling capacity of 200,000 tons. Therefore, this airport could accommodate Boeing 747-400 and MD-11 and other large aircraft, to meet the demand for direct flights from this airport to Southeast Asia, North America and other areas far away from China.

The transport from the city centre of Changle to the airport includes 2 ways. On is taxi while the other one is airport bus. Of course, if you are approaching airport to pick up your friends, you could drive your own car there.

For airbus, the price of ticket is mostly 20 RMB per person so that if you are taking the bus from a place far away from the airport, it would be quite nice to take a bus. However, if you are quite near to the airport, taking a taxi might be more beneficial because the minimum fare of a taxi is 7RMB. Of course, it is up to you to choose.

Beijing Nanyuan Airport (in simplified Chinese北京南苑机场) is the major airport used by China United Airlines. The ICAO code of this airport is ZBNY while the IATA code of it is NAY). Beijing Nanyuan Airport is located in Fengtai District of Beijing. Beijing Nanyuan Airport is located at 3 kilometers from the South Fourth Ring, 13 kilometers away from Tiananmen Square. The airport flight zone was graded as grade 4C.

In 1904, two small aircraft from France conducted a field demonstration flight in Beijing Nanyuan Airport. According to some historical record, this is the first time that an airplane flies over Chinese territory. Therefore, you could definitely see that Beijing Nanyuan Airport is very important to the development of Chinese aviation history and without this airport, Chinese people might not be able to see the power of planes until World War and the development of the air force of China would not be so early.

In August 1910, the Qing government decided to organize some resources to start the aviation industry. Therefore, they decided to set up an aircraft manufacturing factory and tried to make some aircrafts in Nanyuan Airport. Of course, in order to let planes to take off, there should be a long runway. The workers created a long runway and Beijing Nanyuan Airport formally became an airport.

Decades later, World War started and this Beijing Nanyuan Airport became one of the major supporting bases for Chinese air force to fight against the enemies. Moreover, if Chinese leaders need to travel to other places to instruct the plans of the war, they would take off from Beijing Nanyuan Airport. Many leaders therefore had used Beijing Nanyuan Airport for their flights.

After the establishment of China United Airlines, the authority permitted it to use Beijing Nanyuan Airport as its base. Of course, a condition is that China United Airlines should share part of the military need of the Chinese military force to transport some of the materials to other parts of China. Thus, Beijing Nanyuan Airport is really very special to Chinese people.

As mentioned before, Beijing Capital International Airport (in simplified Chinese北京首都国际机场) has three terminals. Terminal 1 was opened on January 1, 1980. There are 10 boarding gates, so that the scale of this terminal is relatively small. Until 1999, this is the only one airport terminal. After the opening of the Terminal 2, terminal 1 was closed for renovation. After a series of renovation Terminal 1 was re-opened in September 20, 2004 and it was mainly used by China Southern Airlines and Xiamen Airlines to run some domestic routes. In May 20, 2008, China Southern Airlines and other airlines moved to Terminal 2 and a month later, the Hainan Airlines Group, including Hainan Airlines, Grand China Air Co., Ltd., Deer Jet Co., Ltd., Grand China Express Airlines Co., Ltd., all moved their domestic flights check-in counters to terminal one, while other international flights continue to operate in Terminal 2.

Terminal 2 of Beijing Capital International Airport was put into use on November 1, 1999. Before the opening of terminal 3, terminal 2 once handled some of the domestic flights as well as all international flights. There is a passenger access from Terminal 1 to 2, and there would be automatic conveyor belts to reduce the long distances between the two terminals so that passengers would not feel so exhausted.

For terminal 3, it is definitely the core terminal of Beijing Capital International Airport. In fact, in terms of routes run, the number of routes run in terminal 3 is similar to terminal 2. However, there are a lot of entertainment facilities and restaurants in terminal 3, making it very comprehensive to the passengers. In fact, many people would like visit terminal 3 of the airport and have a funny holiday, even though they are not taking a flight. This clearly matches with the trend of the world that an airport should provide more and more different kinds of shops to satisfy the needs of some busy passengers who are traveling from flights to flights.

The traffic to the main airport in Beijing, the Beijing Capital International Airport (in simplified Chinese北京首都国际机场), is very convenient.

If you are driving a car and you would like to arrive at this airport to pick up some of your friends or relatives coming to Beijing, there is the Capital Airport Expressway built in the early 1990s. You could directly reach the airport from the Beijing Sanyuan Bridge Direct quickly with the use of this Capital Airport Expressway. There is also an ordinary road built parallel to the Expressway. It was actually older than the Expressway as it was built in the 1950s. Now, this road is commonly referred to as the airport side roads. Of course, as mentioned before, the development of Beijing Capital International Airport is very rapid and the Expressway had been a bit saturated. Therefore, the government had started building another Expressway for drivers to reach the airport quickly. When this new Expressway is built, it is expected that more and more people would like to use the service of Beijing Capital International Airport and the throughput of this airport would probably increase again!

Of course, if you are not driver, you could also reach the airport by the advanced Urban Mass Transit System. This system connecting major areas of Beijing to T3 terminal of Beijing started its construction in 2005 and was completed and opened on July 19, 2008. You would be able to arrive at the airport very quickly. The ticket price was not very costly so it is very suitable for those who would are in a hurry.

Besides the above listed methods, you could also take the Airport Bus to the airport. Airport Bus is run by KONE Corporation and Civil Aviation Corporation and they would provide daily bus services running from the major areas of Beijing to the airport. Of course, as it is using the roads, the speed of it might be a bit slower that the mass transit system. But the price of the ticket is definitely cheaper.

Beijing Capital International Airport (in simplified Chinese北京首都国际机场), or Capital Airport for short, is China’s main international airport which connects Chinese people to the outside world. It is also China’s busiest commercial airport and also the vase of Air China. The ICAO code of this airport is ZBAA while the IATA code of Capital Airport is PEK.

In 2004, the Beijing Capital International Airport replaced the Narita International Airport and became the busiest airport in Asia in terms of aircraft movements. In 2006, the passenger throughout of Beijing Capital International Airport has become second in Asia, just after Haneda Airport. Moreover, it ranks 9th in the world. Of course, as the busiest airport in the world, Capital Airport would not just stop at this position. With rapid development of China, the airport also received a very rapid development. In 2008, the Beijing Capital International Airport’s passenger throughput had reached 55.66 million passengers, which had an increase of 4.3%, ranking the 8th among all of the airports in the world. Just one year later, from 2009 January to March, the Beijing Capital International Airport passenger throughput had reached 20.68 million passengers, with an increase of 20.0%, becoming the world’s No. 2, which is also the first in Asia.

Beijing Capital International Airport is located in the northeast of Beijing, in the Shunyi District and Chaoyang District. The airport is 25.35 kilometers from Tiananmen Square and it has two towers, and 3 terminals, namely T1, T2 and T3 terminal.

In fact, the history of Beijing Capital International Airport is very old. It was opened in 1958. Of course, throughout the years, a lot of construction and renovation had been done to this airport so that the equipment as well as the service provided by this airport could make the development pace of the world’s airports. With construction of new terminals, Beijing Capital International Airport is able to accommodate more and more flights as well as passengers so that Beijing would have more connections to other parts of the world.
