It was put into use in July 1998. Locating in such a famous international city, Hong Kong, it clearly shows that Cathay Pacific is a very great airline and it is having great influence over the development of Hong Kong. In fact, without Cathay Pacific, Hong Kong was not able to develop very rapidly in the 1980s because Cathay Pacific’s high quality of services brings a lot of foreigners to Hong Kong and without this, Hong Kong might not be so well known and industries like financial industry and tourism might all not be able to be so rapid and supportive to Hong Kong nowadays.

Therefore, it is one of the great marks of Hong Kong and so, it is quite make sense that Cathay Pacific would support Hong Kong to develop some leisure events and bring fun to Hong Kong people.
